Remote Assessments

Because some psychological assessments do not require a physical examination, video links are a feasible way of assessing clients. This is supplemented by secure, encrypted online questionnaire information using Pearson Clinical Services.

Depending on clients ' preferences, we use Teams, Zoom, FaceTime, and WhatsApp. Because we do not need to find clinic times, appointments can be made within a few days and at a time convenient to clients, six days a week. This also saves clients travelling to venues, which is particularly convenient for families and less stressful for children, which can help the assessment process. 

Assessments usually take 90 minutes.

Neuropsychological Assessments

These require face-to-face assessments in clinics or at home. Dr Thorley will travel anywhere in the UK on times and dates that are convenient for clients. Assessments usually take 3 hours.

Clinic arrangements

Clinics are held at  Spire Leicester Hospital.  This location is convenient for clients from the East and West Midlands, Northamptonshire, Cambridgeshire, West Norfolk and Lincolnshire. Other clinic venues are available using Regus consulting rooms throughout the UK.

Appointments are generally available within two to four weeks of instructions. Reports are usually available within two to three weeks of final assessment sessions. Full terms, conditions and charges are available on request. Services are provided by Psychological Health Ltd, of which Dr Thorley is the Director and sole provider of medico-legal services.

It isn't easy to be precise about the cost of an assessment. However, we can give an estimate or quotation after we receive summary information on the problems to be assessed and some idea of the extent of medical records and other documentation. Assessments take approximately 90 minutes for those not involving brain injury.

Clinics are on Saturday mornings.

 We also use consulting rooms Regus provides in significant cities throughout the UK.

Home visits for assessments are also available throughout the UK.
